Birds & Branches / Free as a Bird Online Class - Teach by Post or in person

This post and class was originally shared during 2020 full lockdown - but of course now you can also teach it in person :)

Today I am sharing another online class for you, suitable to be a class by post and I hope it will be helpful to you at this time.

Whether your customers are internet savvy or completely offline - you can teach this using the materials I am providing in this class. It features a pretty bird box with a hinge lid that stores up to 12 3X3 notecards and envelopes!

You can teach it right now using the Free as a Bird Stamp Set or you can order today and get ready to teach it in June using the fabulous Birds & Branches stamp set- available on pre-order. Now you know I can't show you that one as I type (it is May 9th) - but you can find it on page 120 of the new catalogue.

**NOW UPDATED to add photos and tips sheet for the Birds & Branches version!

I included the Free as a Bird stamps - but with Birds & Branches you can also offer an option for your customers to upgrade to the bundle price to include the dies!

Once again there are options with the cards. I am teaching this class by post right now using the retiring Best Dressed 3X3 cards – my customers are getting 12 cards and envelopes in their kits. But below you can see an option you can offer with plain white 3X3 cards and the 3 1/8" square envelopes that are carry over.

The bird box looks beautiful and you can choose from a range of embossing folder options and colours to suit your customers. My class by post has been super popular with my lovely class ladies, currently all locked down at home.

Teaching Options for this class by post

Of course you can make your own videos of these projects, (check out my tips video on doing this if you want to try),  but I am offering two other options to help you share this class with your customer

A printable featuring non-logo photos with simple instructions so that customers with no internet access can still join the class
No-logo videos filmed especially for you to share with your customers encouraging them to connect with you as their demo - but saving you a couple of days or more of videoing and editing. See more about these options in the video below.

The video mainly focuses on the construction of the bird house and I show the various card options – but it will all feature the Free as a Bird stamps as that is what I have on hand right now. I will mention that your customers may be using another super cute bird stamp set!

BONUS coming soon for anyone who buys this class! As soon as my Birds & Branches bundle arrives, I will update the photos and projects to show it using the new bundle and make the no-logo photos available to you. I will email you directly to let you know when they are available. ***NOW UPDATED - you will get these updated photos and a tips document when you receive your class.

In addition you will receive all the usual goodies from me

Measurements for all the projects in inches worked out for US Letter and A4 sizes

Non-logo photos for advertising the class

List of items to order PLUS pricing ideas and hints and tips included

Everything printable on US letter or A4 paper with correct local spellings :)

How much is all this? Well as usual I would rather keep it affordable for you – especially in these challenging times. So this class is just £10 (apx $13 US) and you can order it right now whichever option you are doing. Click the button below to order and I will pop the class into your email box. I do it asap, but if we are in a different time zone it may take a couple of hours for me to wake up:)

Birds & Branches / Free as a Bird Online Class £10.00

**NOTE: Products used in this class were current at the time the class was designed. In many cases an alternative stamp/punch/die or DSP design will work for the projects**

If you want to see more about this class - you can watch the video below.

Video Basics - Getting Started

Welcome to Ready Set Demo

I promised I would be back soon with some ideas for getting started with making videos. The video below covers the basic things you need to get started - and that is pretty much just a phone! Even if you have never made a video before - you CAN do this and help keep your Stampin' Up! business going. :D

I also mention resources in the video. If you are on my newsletter list, you will already have received the link for the extra training materials and the links mentioned in the video. If you aren't already on my list, please email me at liz.shannon@icloud.com and I will add you and send the links.

I have lots of classes that may help keep your business going at the moment. In particular I would recommend

  • Positive Thoughts Class by Post
  • Technique Classes
  • Fancy Fold Classes

You can find them and my other online classes here.

Positive Thoughts Class - suitable as a class in the mail (or in person now too!)

This post is written over Easter 2020 with the Covid 19 virus causing untold stress, worry and financial hardship around the world. I have been reflecting on the Stampin' Up! Statement of the Heart over the past few weeks as I try to keep my wonderful community of stampers and team together virtually while we are physically apart.

Today I am sharing a different sort of online class for you. This is one that is suitable to be a class by post and I hope it will be helpful to you at this time.

It is based on the beautiful Positive Thoughts stamp set and includes 10 projects in different colour choices and shows your customers how they can adapt to use the inks they have on hand.

Of course you can make your own videos of these projects but I am offering two other options to help you share this class with your customers
  • A printable featuring non-logo photos with simple instructions so that customers with no internet access can still join the class

My next steps - keeping our Stampin' Up! businesses going during lockdown

Welcome to Ready Set Demo
Welcome to Ready Set Demo.

Well this is a very difficult time for so many of us with worries we could never have envisaged a short time ago.

I am trying my best to keep my business going without the face to face classes that are the core of Elizabeth's Craft Room. If you have a mostly or wholly online business, this video is probably not going to be helpful to you - this is for those, like me, who are having to re-invent themselves fast to get through this.

I have put this video together to describe the practical steps I have taken so far. This was filmed 2 days ago - things have been a bit crazy here - but since then I have the following updates.

The UK has experienced a further lock down but right now mailing classes for a business purpose is still allowed. I will continue to check daily and we will of course comply fully with any further rules.

So far 80% of my class customers have signed up for postal classes and many want with-product classes too. I am humbled and grateful to them all.

Our warehouse and UPS /DHL are still operating more or less normally observing required distancing but I hear there are some places in France where they may not deliver.

I hope the video will help you take the next steps and I will be back as soon as I can with more practical ideas for you.

In the meantime this is the link for currently available classes - as I mentioned I will be turning to my technique classes and fancy folds for the basis of my postal classes.

Take care of yourselves and stay safe.

Keeping your Stampin' Up! business going during lockdown

Welcome to Ready Set Demo

This was not the free share I was planning to offer you today...our finding new local customers video and resources will be coming to you later in the year.

For now I wanted to reach out to all of you, send you love, and outline some practical things I have coming up for you.

Oh and you are allowed to laugh at the still YouTube picked - yes the ideas are all in here LOL!

Extra update:

Since filming this video (Monday afternoon), the UK has gone into partial lockdown. I am in the at risk group, (lung damage), so I am hunkering down. Schools are closing tomorrow and we expect to be in full lockdown at the weekend.

I know things are moving at a different rate in different parts of the world, but rest assured, my friends in Austria and Spain confirm food stores and pharmacies are open and well stocked, the postal service is still working - so we can do classes by mail, the internet has not fallen over with people working from home....and if you didn't see, all our factories in China are now open and travel restrictions are being lifted - so take heart and know this is not forever.

I will finish by saying that I have had the most heart warming response from my lovely class ladies - happy tears flowed - and Elizabeth's Craft Room WILL get through as we all will together.

Take care of yourselves. your loved ones and each other.

Vintage Book Box - Online Class

Do you sometimes design something and think Wow! I LOVE that! Well that was me when I designed this new online class. They look like books - but they are storage boxes. Yay! Anyone here not like storage? :D

I am calling it my Vintage Book Box class and it includes three sizes of storage or gift boxes that look like books.

You can fit so much in these boxes; blends and markers (stored flat of course), ribbon and bling, adhesive and tools and each size fits our standard cards and envelopes, notecards or 3X3 cards too.  See more about this class in the video at the bottom of this post.

Whether you are creating for yourself or teaching a class - these videos and instructions will save you time and effort as all the working out is done for you. I am even including an ordering list and pricing ideas as well as all the usual measurements and photos (non-logo so you can use in your class advertising).

As well as the boxes themselves there are also some card ideas in case you want to teach them too. My example boxes and cards are using DSP from the 19/20 and spring Mini catalogues - but can be swapped out for any other papers and stamps you like.
Here is what is included
  • All cutting and scoring measurements for each project - all in inches for both A4 and US Letter sizes of card stock
  • A printable sheet with instructions, hints and tips and the order of construction - and you are welcome to share these at in-person classes with your customers! There are no logos and they are editable - you can add your own logo if you wish.
  • Optional card ideas in case you want to teach co-ordinating cards as well with a show and tell and technique demonstration video.
  • step by step video for how to make the Vintage Book Boxes with lots of extra teaching tips
  • Printable photos of both cards and book boxes for your class advertising and for your reference
  • Bonus measurements for standard A4 and US Letter cards and layers
  • Per-customer ordering list to make class planning a breeze
  • Ideas for pricing and my actual pricing for teaching this class
If you would like to receive this Vintage Book Boxes class you can order securely via PayPal by clicking the button below.
The price is just £10 - about $14 US. I will email the class over as soon as I receive the order - but allow time in case I am teaching - or sleeping if we are in a different time zone :)

**NOTE: Products used in this class were current at the time the class was designed. In many cases an alternative stamp/punch/die or DSP design will work for the projects**

Thank you to everyone who is enjoying my classes designed especially for demonstrators. I try my best to take as much work out of sharing Stampin' Up! with your customers as I can. These are some of the lovely emails I have had recently. You all make my heart smile.

I know I already said thanks, but I wanted you to know what a huge hit your class was!! Everyone loved it, and several demos commented on what great designs they were. Ann O

I recently purchased your Poppy Class Kit, 48 techniques and stamparatus techniques. I just had to take time and thank you for your effort you put into these wonderful, well thought out tutorials. I love how everything is laid out so perfectly from measurements to videos. I enjoyed putting together my techniques binder. Making the samples and setting up the binder was fun. Thanks again and keep those classes coming! June A

Thank you so much Liz.  Can’t wait to start playing. Once again you have taken a load off my shoulders & it never goes unappreciated. Vikki W

Another great tutorial project!  Made it right away.  I think my customers are going to love it.  Doing your Sailing scrapbook this month.  Great instructions and video as well.  Thank you for making these wonderful projects available to purchase.  I know it takes a lot of time designing, typing all the dimensions and making the videos.  Look forward to your next project!
